Download the AR Circuits app.
Print and cut out the component cards.
Arrange the cards into a circuit on a flat well-lit surface.
Open the app on your mobile device and select the start button.
Bring the circuit cards into view of the camera on the app. The circuit cards will appear as working electric components.
Touch components on the screen to toggle switches, adjust component properties, and get additional information.
Resistor and bulb resistance values can be adjusted between 5 and 15 ohms. This can be used to observe the effect that different resistances have on bulb brightness in various circuit configurations.
Touch bulb or resistor on the screen.
Touch settings gear icon under component information.
Touch up and down arrows to adjust the resistance (resistor color codes will change to match resistance value).
Close the resistance menu by touching the settings gear icon.
The battery voltage can be adjusted between 1.5 and 6 volts. This can be used to observe the effect that battery size has on bulb brightness in various circuit configurations.
Touch battery component on your device screen.
Touch settings gear icon under battery information.
Touch up and down arrows to adjust the voltage (the number of battery cells will change with voltage increase).
Close the voltage menu by touching the settings gear icon.
The conductor component has 5 material options. These include aluminum, glass, wood toothpick, steel nail, and pencil graphite. Use this component to test the conductivity of various material in your circuit.
Touch conductor component on your device screen.
Touch settings gear icon under conductor information.
Touch up and down arrows to change the material.
Close the conductor menu by touching the settings gear icon.
The voltmeter component allows you to measure the electric potential, in volts, in the circuits you design. These measurements can be taken from any pair of junctions in a circuit.
Touch the icon in the bottom right corner of the app screen to activate the voltmeter.
Bring the circuit you want to test into view on your device screen.
Place both test leads by selecting the red or black test lead icon, then select a junction on the circuit. You will see the test lead attached to the junction.
After placing both test leads you will see the voltage measurement in the top left of your device screen.
Junctions automatically form when the terminals of two or more components are in close proximity to one another.
